About Tata ProEngage
Tata Sustainability Group (TSG), a subsidiary of Tata Sons, leads sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives for 84 Tata Group companies. One of its flagship programs, ProEngage, focuses on skills-based volunteering, enabling Tata employees to leverage their expertise for meaningful social impact.
However, scaling and evolving the ProEngage program presented unique challenges, and TSG turned to Chezuba for tailored solutions.
Challenges
- Increasing Volunteering Opportunities:
Tata wanted to expand its volunteering catalog by sourcing more projects for both in-person and virtual skill-based volunteering. They recognized the growing preference among employees for online volunteering, which offered flexibility and convenience. - Diverse Skill-Based Projects:
To keep employees engaged, Tata needed a broader variety of skill-based projects across different domains and causes, addressing the monotony in their existing offerings. - Global Engagement:
While most employees were based in India, Tata’s global workforce in North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region required access to volunteering opportunities worldwide. - Organizational Support:
The scale of the ProEngage program demanded reliable planning and execution, particularly in onboarding nonprofits. Sourcing, screening, and preparing nonprofits for collaboration posed a significant logistical challenge. - Operational Support:
Managing the lifecycle of projects—regular follow-ups, status updates, and completion reports—needed robust systems and consistent oversight to ensure smooth delivery.
